Police Museum open for one hour more on weekdays from 30 April onwards
The Police Museum’s opening hours will be prolonged from Tuesday, 30 April 2024. From the end of April, the museum is open until 4 p.m. from Tuesday to Friday.
“In previous years, the Police Museum has been open for longer than usual on weekdays during the summer season, but now the weekday opening hours will be prolonged by one hour on a permanent basis. Museum visitors can explore the exhibitions from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday to Friday and on Saturdays from 12 noon to 5 p.m. The museum is closed for the general public on Mondays and Sundays,” says Intendant, Museum Director Lauri Haavisto.
The new special exhibition, “Marias and Mörkös – Police Vehicles On and Off the Road”, opens on Friday, 26 April 2024. In addition, the permanent exhibition that describes the history of the police in Finland from the Middle Ages to the present day, is on display.
“The Police Museum is suitable for the whole family, and the museum visit is free of charge. Museum visitors can, for example, sit in a police van and take a picture of themselves in the suspect registration chair. In the special children’s section Pokela, young museum visitors can wear police overalls.”
The texts in the Police Museum exhibitions are available in Finnish, Swedish and English.
