The Police Museum opens on 2 June

The Police Museum opens its doors to the public on Tuesday 2 June at 10 am. The museum adheres to the general guidelines issued by the Finnish Government and follows instructions given by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare to ensure safety of visitors and staff.

The number of visitors allowed in the museums at a time will be restricted to 50 and guided tours will not be available. There are signs at the museum reminding visitors to maintain a safe social distance and cleaning has been enhanced. Hand sanitizer will be available in the lobby and exhibition spaces.

- Police Museum exhibitions include items that visitors are allowed to touch. Visitors can still interact with those items, but we recommend that disinfectant is used before and after touching them. We will also reserve disinfectant wipes for visitors, and everyone is urged to clean VR headsets and other such interactive items before wearing them. These measures are the responsibility of each individual visitor, says Intendent Tiina Tuulasvaara-Kaleva.

Some of the toys in the children’s section can be played with, and they are cleaned on a daily basis. However, small police overalls cannot be worn at this time.

Please do not visit the museum if you are sick.

Summer opening hours

From 2 June to 7 August, the Police Museum will be open Tuesday through Friday from 10 am to 4 pm and on Saturdays from noon to 5 pm. The museum is open to all, free of charge.
