Did you notice something strange in the registration information of the upcoming car? Did the car driving ahead take a turn in the direction of no entry for any vehicles? How many points would you get in a game as the co-driver of a police car?

The Police Museum now offers a new, experiential driving experience: riding in a police van. This game, which utilizes 360-degree video recording inside a police van, allows museum visitors to sit next to the driver and observe the environment through VR glasses.

The co-driver’s role in the patrol is to observe traffic violations, catch important radio messages and registration details as well as other essentials of police work. One co-driver at a time can ride in police patrol 501. Other museum visitors can follow the ongoing game on the screen in the back of the police van.

“Police equipment, police vans in particular, have always been the most popular objects in our exhibition, and visitors have also hoped to get behind the wheel. This experiential driving experience thus corresponds to the wishes of our visitors,” says Museum Director, Intendent Tiina Tuulasvaara-Kaleva .

“The launch of the game is ideally scheduled for the International Museum Day, celebrated on 18 May.”

The game is suitable for museum visitors of all ages. The game is in Finnish but even if you do not understand Finnish, you can follow the game.

The Police Museum is located in the Tampere suburb of Hervanta, adjacent to the Police University College. The Museum is open to all and admission is free.
