The Police Museum will have longer opening hours on the weekdays during the summer season. From 18 June to 9 August, the Museum will be open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturdays from noon to 5 pm.

The museum presents the history and operations of the Finnish police from the Middle Ages to today.

- The new permanent exhibition was recently opened, and there you can familiarize yourself for example with witch hunts, high treasons and today's cyber crime. Crime cases and accidents from different eras and their stories are on display as well as items belonging to the collection of the Crime museum, such as a beheading axe, says curator Maritta Jokiniemi .

The Pokela police station, intended for child guests, was renovated at the outset of the year. There are plenty of activities at Pokela: test your skills as a traffic guard and sit in a police car, take a look at the station's break room, try out the Robo-Cop, and find out what Police Chief Jeppe Sankari is up to.

- For many little guests one of the most important things at the museum is putting on Pokela's very own police uniforms. For older visitors, the Police Museum offers a crime scene game in which a case of safecracking is solved. In the patrol vehicle game, which uses virtual glasses, you’ll get to put your skills to the test as a co-driver.

The Police Museum is a museum for the entire family, located in the Hervanta district of Tampere within the premises of the Police University College. Entrance is free.
