The Police Museum attracted over 26,000 visitors in 2015, setting a new record in the museum's history. The figure for the previous year was 21,400.

“The Museum's new special exhibition, Demanding situations and the use of force , opened in April; tourists found their way to the Police Museum in large numbers during the summer in particular. Our strength lies in the fact that our exhibitions offer visitors of all ages things to see and do. The Police Game, and shifting the 80-kilo dummy in the special exhibition, have been particularly popular. This special exhibition will remain open to visitors until December,” says Maritta Jokiniemi , Researcher at the Police Museum.

“We have also succeeded in increasing the number of followers in the social media. The police cat Aamu was a special social media favourite, melting hearts with her sweet updates.”

The Police Museum, located on the premises of the Police University College in Tampere, will reopen to the public on 19 January.
