Events at the Police Museum

Welcome to talk with police officers and police students and get acquainted with a wide range of equipment – including police dogs and horses. At the gaming police demonstration point, you can get to play yourself. Lots of fun activities are in store for the whole family!
Program:
- 12.00 Opening of the event: Police Chief Mikko Masalin and Director of the Police University College Marko Laitinen
- 12.30 Police dog demonstration
- 12–15 Police horses present (feeding break approximately 13.30–14)
- 13–16 Guided tours (in Finnish) at the museum of the special exhibition Marias and Mörkös – Police Vehicles On and Off the Road, on the hour
- 17.00 Event ends
Whole day:
- Equipment presentations: come and see, for example, a police motorcycle and ATV, various vehicles, the bicycle police as well as police drone activities
- Police students will tell about education and how to apply, test your pull-up shape, fingerprint point
- Play with the gaming police and watch a gaming stream (twitch.tv/pelipoliisi)
- Children’s police station Pokela
- Museum exhibitions open
- Get acquainted with the activities of the Voluntary Rescue Service Vapepa
- The Finnish Road Safety Council: Do you know the traffic rules?
- You can buy food and drink at the sales booth (card payment only)
Guided tours of the museum’s special exhibition and a part of the demonstrations are only in Finnish.

The event is organized by the Police Museum, Police University College and Central Finland Police Department.
Come and meet the students from the Police University College at the Police Museum! Police students practice working with ordinary citizens in the museum as part of their professional practice day. During the day, the student patrols visit different checkpoints at the Police University College campus, and one of the checkpoint tasks is to meet the public at the museum. Police students talk with museum guests and can even play with children in the museum’s children’s department Pokela.
The Police Museum opens its doors at 9:30 a.m. on practice days for police officers. The student patrols arrive at the museum at around 9:40 a.m., 10:05 a.m., 10:35 a.m., 12:05 a.m., 12:35 a.m., 1 p.m., 1:50 p.m. and 2:10 p.m. One patrol stays in place for about 20 minutes.
