Image bank opened on the Police Museum website
Our website features an image bank of photographs related to the Police Museum exhibitions and the history of the Police.
The image bank includes many interesting images and information related to their themes. For example, there are photographs of the pre-trial investigation materials of an art crime case, an executioner’s axe and the microphotography equipment of the Crime Research Centre from the 1920s–1930s.
“For example, a student preparing a presentation about a police-related topic can download photographs for free from our image bank. With the image bank, we also serve journalists who can use the images for free in articles relating to the Police Museum or the history of the Finnish police,” says Maritta Jokiniemi, Curator at the Police Museum.
When using a photograph from the image bank, please remember to mention that the image was sourced from the Police Museum collection.
If the image bank does not include the photograph you are looking for, feel free to contact our image services, subject to a charge. The Police Museum collections include approximately 120,000 photographs, of which one quarter is available in digital format.
