The collection services of the Police Museum will not be available from January 1 to August 31, 2026. The information service related to the museum items is closed during this period. Moreover, the museum does not receive donations of objects.
“Our collection includes approximately 24,000 objects, 142,000 photographs, 2,500 books as well as 4,000 films or multimedia presentations. During the break in the collection services, we will concentrate on organizing the existing collections,” says Lauri Haavisto, Intendant of the museum.
“During the break, it will not be possible to donate objects to us and we do not offer collection services. Please also be prepared for the fact that in January to August 2026, the information and image services of the museum will only operate to a limited extent.”
The Police Museum lends its items to other professionally maintained museums for exhibition purposes. Please make an arrangement on item loans during the break in collection services during November 2025.
